RULE INTERPRETATION: In so far as possible, the following rules shall remain unchanged during 2006. Interpretation of these rules is left exclusively to the Tournament Director. The decisions of the Tournament Director are final in all matters and are not subject to appeal.

ELIGIBILITY: Participation is open only to members of Championship Teams (CT). Persons under 18 must have the signature of his/her parent or legal guardian on the entry form. CT tournaments are open to all people regardless of race, sex, religion or national origin. Tournament Marine Corp. reserves the right to refuse any application for membership and tournament entry fees.

MEMBERSHIP FEES : Membership Fee is $30 per year. 

ENTRY FEES: Entry fee is $200 per qualifying tournament. Big Fish pot of $10 is optional.  The Grand Championship entry fee is $200 entry fees.  Big Fish pot of $10 per day is optional.  Open tournaments entry fee is $200. All entries must be received in Tournament Marine, Corp.'s office by Wednesday preceding tournament to avoid the $20 late fee. All entries paid at ramp, unless new members, must include the late fee.

TOURNAMENT HOURS: Tournament hours will be from 6:00 a.m. (safe light permitting) until 3:00 p.m. for the first flight.  There is a one half hour delay for each additional flight.  There will be 59 boats per flight.

TRANSFERS/WITHDRAWALS: Any team pre-registered that needs to transfer entry fee or withdraw from a tournament will incur a $25 service charge for the transfer or refund of their tournament entry. Notification to Tournament Marine, Corp. must be made by 6:00 p.m. Wednesday preceding tournament date.

SPORTSMANSHIP: All teams are expected to follow high standards of sportsmanship, safety, courtesy, and conservation. Any team who violates these rules or any federal, state or local laws will be disqualified. No drugs or alcohol are permitted in the boat at any time. The winners of the event may not have any alcohol until after the polygraph. Use of any 2-way communication devices such as cell phones, pagers, CB's, etc. or any angler or persons intending to aide in locating or catching fish is strictly prohibited.

TACKLE & EQUIPMENT:
Only artificial lures, with the exception of pork rind, may be used. Only one rod and reel combination may be used at one time per person. Trolling as a method of fishing is prohibited. All bass must be caught alive in a conventional manner during tournament hours by either team member.

BOAT SAFETY OPERATION & MOTOR: All fishing must be done from a boat inspected during official boat check-out. The Tournament Staff reserves the right to check any and all boats before, during or after tournaments, including any and all compartments, for any rule infraction. All boats must meet U.S. Coast Guard and state regulations. All boats must have a functional emergency kill switch and an aerated live well. An U.S. CG approved chest type life preserver, SUSPENDER-TYPE PRESERVERS are discouraged, must be on and fastened any time the boat is on plane and the kill switch attached to the driver. Lights must be up and on until the first stop. All boats entered in the tournament must carry liability insurance.

PERMITTED FISHING LOCATIONS: Fishing anywhere on tournament waters that is accessible by boat is permitted except in areas designated as "off limits" or "no fishing," etc. by local, state or federal officials. When fishing a commercial boat dock, all patrons of that facility have the right-of-way. You may not leave your boat except in a dire emergency.

CHECK POINT: There will be one official check point for check-out in the morning and check-in that afternoon.  At check-out boats shall be released in the order of registration. Failure to go through check-out in the morning or failure to check-in at check-in point, will result in disqualification. All fishing must cease upon check-in. If any angler elects to check-in early, it shall be his responsibility to notify Tournament Officials. Boats must be left in water until the team has weighed their fish.

SCORING:
All places will be determined by pounds and ounces. Each boat may weigh-in a limit of five bass at least 12" long. No more than six fish at anytime, may be in the live wells. You must cull as you catch. No culling at the ramp. Fish will be measured on a Golden Rule with mouth closed and tail compressed or fanned. Fish brought to the scales become the property of Championship Teams. A dead fish penalty of 4 ounces per fish will be deducted from the total weight. No dead fish will be weighed for Big Fish. Any team bringing a fish to the scales shorter than the tournament length will have the short fish and biggest fish from their catch culled. Any team late to the scales will be penalized 1/2 pound per minute and disqualified after 15 minutes. Any team returning late will not have their fish weighed for Big Fish. Any fish appearing to be mangled, mauled, or otherwise altered, may be weighed at the discretion of the Tournament Director. Only Largemouth, Spotted or Smallmouth bass will be scored. Failure to sign weigh-in form may result in zero weight for that day.

PAYOUT : In the case of a tie, the prize money will be combined and divided equally. Each member is responsible for reporting all winnings.

Protests must be made in writing within 30 minutes of the official check-in time of the final flight in each tournament.

One sub will be allowed per team per year. You may fish alone.

Grand Championship
QUALIFYING:  Teams must fish at least five tournament to qualify for the Grand Championship (GC).  Team members must fish together.  In the event one member is unable to fish, the other member may fish alone.  No substitutions.  All qualifying rules apply.

 

CHAMPIONSHIP TEAMS OF THE YEAR

POINT SYSTEM: All tournaments are scored in pounds and ounces with points awarded for the place of finish to determine the final standing.  Tournaments are worth a total of 150 points each. There is a one point difference between places of finish for teams weighing in fish at tournaments. Teams that do not weigh in fish will receive points equal to 10 points less than the last place team weighing fish. 

Championship Teams His and Her: Any female paired with a male 18 and older.

Championship Teams Youth and Adult: Anyone age 18 and older paired with anyone under age 16 as of 3/2/08.

Championship Teams Team of the Year, Championship Teams His and Her of the Year and 
Championship Teams Youth and Adult of the Year will be determined by the team with the highest points in each category.  Teams must fish a qualifying tournament in addition to the GC in order to receive year-end awards in these categories.  Any team participating in the special categories named above, will have to declare at the first tournament the team fishes, which category the team will be competing.  Any team qualifying for two awards will receive the award of the greatest value.   No switching to another category allowed.  In addition, the Largest Creel of the Year and the Big Fish of the Year will be awarded at the GC tournament.

Any ties in the Teams of the Year categories will be broken by pounds and ounces.
